Mozilla Thunderbird vs Outlook

Tuesday, February 13, 2007

My university email is using Microsoft Exchange Server. It is turned out that Thunderbird can not be used as an email client if the exchange server doesn't support pop or imap. Some discussion are found out in this forum.
If Microsoft wishes to keep its native Exchange mail protocol propreitary, it is legally allowed to do so. That is what prevents Mozilla from developing the ability for Thunderbird to run against a native Exchange server. No number of programmers is going to get past that barrier.
As I claimed many years ago, I'm an anti-Microsoft person. The usability of Outlook is just like !@#$%^&&. If you had tried other mail client before, you will know what I mean. Obviously, people may argue with me that outlook has calendar function, notebook function, etc. But, please wait moment, we are talking about email client at this moment. If Outlook can improve more on the email function, their sub function will be a big plus.

Don't over vote to the supererogatory function until the main function get satisfaction.
